A little help please

Hi guys, I posted this on e28 forum and received no answers, They don't seem to like to talk mechanicals much on that forum. Anyway I need to replace the auto trans in my 85 528e. I gave the car to my little sister and a month later it went. so I am asking what models can I get the trans from? meaning what engine platform combo shared the same transmission. Thanks guys. Steve, unless I'm wrong(wouldn't be the 1st time), I believe you can use the trans from an M20 engined e30. Not the 318. I'm sure the bolt pattern is the same. Not completely sure about all the dimensions.
