Lincoln LS 8 outperforms 540i?

Just saw a commercial for it claiming that it "out slaloms" and "out handles" the bmw 540i...

could this be true?

it just doesnt sound right when the ls outperforms teh 540 .. not saying it cant .. but i dunno man .. what about 540 6 spd (with mpackage .. no?) .. but who knows .. i would take the bimmer ANYDAY.

i'd still have to take the 540, and yeah i seen that commercial, i was like wtf? bs! i'd think a 540 would out handle it, supposedly lincoln handles better, those fucker's feel like big boats

noway.. my friend has a LS and it handles like ass! Tho stiffer than the usual Lincoln but u can tell its still a Lincoln.

There is a goof with a white LS that travels on PA RT 309 daily. He has been "working" those of us in lesser cars for months, to the point that after I see him dash past me (in Nanny) I usually call Tony @ VAC to complain about the length of time Baby's project has taken.

Well the end is in sight now....VAC has assembled Baby's motor and the SC fitment/install has commenced. Centerforce has returned the modified M5 clutch assembly and soon school will be in session.

I want to hand that LS driver his ass. He is high on the list.
I hope his GF is there with him when it goes down too.....

Lincoln probably assembled one specific slolam course that favored the LS. then ran both cars, the LS wins and they on to claim that the LS is a better handling car. I'm willing to bet that if they did a whole battery of tests the Bimmer would win.

I've been in a Lincoln LS on a very curvy road up to speeds at 75, so I don't discredit that. B0rf makes a good point too: the 540 IS a very old design, I bet that claim will be wiped away with the new generation 5. Let Lincoln have its glory for a while.

Wait: Someone pull out last month’s Car and Driver and tell me how the Lincoln proved against the 5 and the E and all the other cars in the test. Wasn’t it last, or second to last?? Sure it wasn’t the sport addition, but it was also matched against a 530. I’m at my cousin’s house right now or I’d get it myself.
