Hella owns DJ Auto and they make InPro.
Those are depo:

hella makes inpro?
hella makes depo?
that's all new to me. any where we can see this link?
depo is it's own company in taiwan. they make a lot of different lighting for different cars. usually their stuff is considered sub-par in quality.
http://www.depoautolamp.com/
http://www.maxzone.com/depo/
as for the ebay auction, it says djauto on the box, and from what i can see on the glass on two pictures, i think it says djauto on the glass. the name djauto is new to me. pretty sure they're made in taiwan too.

no they don't. those depo's have little nipples on top of the glass. the ones in the ebay add don't.

there are a lot of stampings on the glass of the dj auto ones as well, we as the depo just say depo... They may be all right?

I think the inpro are closer to the JP knock offs...these seem a bit different..
the angle eye looks brighter than the inpro and JP gen 1
I wish I could see the beam pattern of the headlight....
Does anyone know how the quality on FK lights are :dunno

Hella makes InPro - I've now been in contact with no fewer than 4 people that have told me this.
What's more they make DJ Auto as well.
Those lights that I detailed are clearer to show the "Depo" name at the bottom right.
The others aren't any different looking than an InPro, but it seems they are some other cheapy knockoff brand.
I've now seen 4 - InPro, ZKWs, BOSCH, and Hella. All but the InPro are in a different league. I'm about to take a BOSCH apart and post pics of what I think of it.
As far as "Hella = German" - yep - TUV standards are strict, so are DOT standards. How to get around those...hmmmm...right!!! Create a different brand.
Hella has at least 3 "brands" on the market that are funded by them but are NOT stated as being HELLA lights.

hmmm interesting matt! good to know.
but i don't think it's fair to say depo are hella though. it's probably more appropriate to say they're a company owned by hella (that makes products that aren't TUV approved and lower in quality) or subsidiary of hella or a totally separate brand. i say this, because if you start saying hella is the same as depo and etc, you're going to get the consumer very confused. the quality between hella and depo is very different, and the brands hella and depo should not be used interchangably.
anyway, here's my experience...
(1) i have hella euro ellipsoids on my car. this is the factory OE product that was installed on the e34 sold in europe and on other e34's around the world. these are very high quality. depo (supposedly owned by hella), also makes e34 ellipsoids. depo is lower in quality than hella. hella is made in germany, depo is made in taiwan.
(2) hella also makes clear lighting for the e34. this is a stock OE part available from any bmw dealer. depo (supposedly owned by hella) also makes clear lighting for the e34. depo is lower in quality than hella. hella is made in germany, depo is made in taiwan.
i think it's safe to say that majority of hella parts are made in germany or europe. the exception i know of is some hella bulbs are made in korea, and are of poor quality. hella makes a lot of quality lighting for aftermarket, and is found as OE on many cars such as bmw, mercedes, and vw.
depo also makes a lot of car lighting. they're headquartered in taiwan and manufacture the majority of their parts there. so, they may be owned by hella, by they are not the same exact product. they may share a design, but the quality of depo is not as good as hella.
anyway, i suggest not going with taiwanese (depo, djauto, etc.) made lights. i've read many times how the quality is poor and there's a chance you might actually melt the headlight, which may cause a fire.
below is a picture of hella ellipsoids (non angle eye). notice the little hella symbol on the glass.

shargon - those were excellent points.
In my haste to prevent another unqualified disaster for the purchase of Depo or InPro lights (I can't tell you HOW MANY customers I've had the have told me that they've almost thrown the InPros out the window when they saw the quality of the ZKWs).
Rob, thanks for clarifying.

Notice the marking on the left of the headlight... these are similar to the dj auto ones...

The ZKW ellipsoids are in the ETK? Do you have a BMW part number for the E36 ZKW ellipsoids?

:az: I don't know why it doesn't show the P/N for the entire headlights unit...
and Hella doesn't seem to be appear in the ETK, so I assume
BMW doesn't carry it? :95
