Hi,
thanks a lot guys for Identifying the rims on this fallen e28 in an earlier thread.(I'll be picking them up within a week or so and then I'll be giving them some TLC). Now there is something else that has managed catch my attention. It seems this e28 is filled with things I've never seen before, and I seem to fancy quite a bit. Could anyone Identify this Steering wheel, and maybe perhaps tell me if it will fit on an E34? It will need some TLC but nothing I don't think I can handle. So without further adieu here are the pictures.

Thats a "sport" steering wheel, it should fit as long as the e28 was manufactured after 85. Some canadian e34s had them too.

Where's the airbag? Is it buried in there?

You can always use the online parts database to find out what BMW part is what....and when you find out what the part nbr is...just click on the "Search By Part Nbr." link and you'll get a list of all BMW models that use that same part nbr.

BTW, the last e28 was the 1988 model year which predated BMWs with airbags. :cool

My 1985 325e also had that same steering wheel. :D http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/1/web/433000-433999/433594_24.jpg

^^ My friend has an Mtech1 steering wheel in his e30. Although they look similar, that is not the mtech 1 wheel.

No it's not the M-tech wheel...again, all that is needed is to go to the online parts database and look up the steering wheels for the e28. It's right there for all to see...it is the SPORTS STEERING WHEEL. It took less than 1 minute to get this info.

If you copy and paste the BMW part nbr into the Search By Part Nbr link..you get this list of other BMWs that can use that same BMW part. If you click the links...they will take you to the individual diagram and part nbr index:

This is one of those times it pays to check...although the E30 has a SPORT STEERING WHEEL that "looks" the same...it has a different part nbr:
