I don't believe there are any bolt on kits, but Ground Control makes conversion kits. The spring perch of the strut is cut away and the kit is welded on:

(Not sure if the spring is included?)

any more? 0-2 inches may not cut it.

The car is already low, drop it more than 2" and you will be replacing the oil pan and /or exhausts every other month. People already crack their oil pans all to often with just a 1.5" drop! So much so that they just last month convinced a builder to make custom skid plates for the six.

As you can see from my sig the cars have to be low. Skidplates are not an issue and i can build one if needed...

What coils go lower then 2inch drop? with the way the car sits now i could take to most campsites around here. If it were any higher id be looking for lockers and swampers.

I think that kit allows for 2 inches of adjustment but does not necessarily determine the ride height. I believe the spring choice will partially determine that. Why not contact Ground Control and see what they have to say?

What is your Dad planning to use the car for? Are you sure that coilovers are the way to go? Cost wise, you can lower the car, without slamming it, for less expense and still maintain ride quality.

Ride quality is going to suffer if the car is lower than 1.5 really. If you are keeping the car a street car, keep the spring rate reasonable. There is a guy with a 5er that did ground control, and its LOW. It has no body roll, he said its really hard to not slip in the rain. The e24 likes to slip in the rain in stock if your not careful. I was just in the rain for the first time in wolfie yesterday (kinda crazy as ive had the car for about 1.5 years), and even with brand new kumhos, it wasnt hard to convince the back end to loose traction. I have dinan springs and bilstein struts. Most folks go eibach or h&r springs with bilsteins and love it! Those springs give you a 1.25 to 1.5 drop which makes the car look great on 16's or 17's.

get the coilover kit with stiff ass springs... then cut on/two coils off the springs....ride quality sucks balls....car=slammed, shocks =exploding , oilpan =toast, engine=*^&%(^%)....but it'll look good right?

not worth it....if you want to drop the car....as low as possible go with the gc kit...if you want to drop the car and be able to comfortably drive it and not just stare at it in your driveway get sport shocks with h&r springs...
if you want to be big baller with it....cut the sprngs...let the car sit on the oil pan and tuck some 22in blades on it....

the oil pan is the issue when lowering these cars. my 1st 6 had HR's and the pan wore many battle scars, one of which needed repaired. as much as i loved the stance and the handling, i need the stock clearance where i live.

mine is sitting pretty on prolines with bilstein sports....havent really had a clearance problem yet here in detroit..however i do fear for my wheels from time to time....but after dding it for almost 2 months, no bends scratches or meet ups with curbs....(crosses fingers)

haha, yea im liking my dinan springs a lot. them with the bilstein sports, awesome ride. Little bumpy in construction around town, but on the highway it rides really nice. Then when you need it to be stiff, it steps up nice. I havent had any run-ins with pot holes or curbs either. What profile tire are you running on your car andrew? im running 225/45/17, Kumho Ecsta ASX's. ($83 a pop, cant beat that)

The car is going to be a weekend toy. Im building it to be fast on the highway and corner nice. My dad has drivin slammed cars before and because this is his 3rd car i doubt he will drive it much. Were going to be doing some arch work and wheels on it so id like to be able to adjust it to fit the stance were after.

BTW ride quality doesnt have to suffer for a slammed car at all. My e36 rides better then stock. Over huge bumps its a bit stiffer but have yet to feel like its too stiff. This will be the same way im sure once its dialed cause my dads old and will whine if its too harsh.
