Anyone have a part # for a replacement steering wheel emblem, or am i stuck buying a new airbag. Like a ar-tard i yanked off the emblem only to later realize that the replacement emblem i have sticks on the cover of this one. i was expecting that it would be like my old 320 where the emblem is an insert.
or possible someone is parting out something with a blown airbag that i could use the emblem from

I've just done exactly the same thing.. for exactly the same reason!!!!
I didn't realise the stick on 'carbon' badge goes over the top. I've really trashed mine though on my E46..
I've actually got a new airbag cover coming from some guy in Sweden.
Is it easier to change the airbag cover on an E46, or try and get the emblem out and move that over to my airbag?
Cheers..

does anyone out there have another blown airbag with the thin stamped aluminum type emblem. the one i got from e39dream is a thick plastic type one, but it wont fit in my steering wheel.
as for install, cant say whether it would easier one way or the other, but once the airbag is blown you cant reuse the cover from what ive seen

Checked out OEM Parts and it didn't seem to have the emblem separately. It looks like it was part of the actual airbag piece.

yea its riveted onto the cover, I am really hoping to find someone with a blown sport airbag and cut the cover off that. unfortunately the regular airbag has a different emblem.

Hey Glyn, sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I just got the airbag cover from the same seller in Sweden and I'm wondering how the hell to install it. I removed my airbag, but can't remove the old cover. Do you have any suggestions? Or anyone out there with any suggestions. Please help. Thanks.

I think the cover and bag are one piece. I dont believe you can take them apart without consequences, ie missing face or hands.
