Got my first ticket....

Well I was driving home from school. Long story short I ended up passing in the "gore" or w/e.

Cop pulls me over. I think I'm going to get a warning because I've never been pulled over before. Well he writes me a ticket. :( ass. I have a court date in a month.

What do you think the fine will be?

How are we supposed to guess a fine when you don't tell us the particulars of the ticket? You know, like, how fast you were going in what zone. Besides, it should be on the back of your copy anyway.

Sorry I'm new to this whole getting pulled over thing. He never told me how fast I was going nor did it day anything about a fine on the ticket. Just that I made an illegal pass on the right.

Interesting. That's a sh*tty first ticket.
Where do you live? Should be able to go to your city's website and find a breakdown of all traffic violations I'm guessing.

That sucks. I got pulled over when I was 16 because I was driving my moms Jeep and the tabs wre expired. I went to court 2 months later and got 6 months probation. Maybe you'll get off with probation if your a minor. :dunno:

OT, I was pissed about it because some 15 y/o kid, who didn't have a lisence, was speeding through a school zone and blew a stopsign. He got a $25 fine.

I was driving my moms car and the tabs were expired. I got 6 months probation. WTF. The system is crazy.

I'm 17. But I'm lucky I wasn't speeding or anything. Ugh this sucks. I already am paying a car payment and insurance is due in a month. :(

i love MA, you can legally pass on the right haha :D. i got pulled over by a cop going in the opposite direction on the highway. he flipped his lights and turned around in the median and came up behind me and got me. i went to court with it with my friend. the ironic thing was we were going about 85 and filming our senior health movie, which was drunk driving. we just put the camera on sporadic so it looked drunk. we have the whole thing on film, i used it as proof plus the witness who was filming. we never showed speed, just acting like idiots and waving to random people as we passed them.

just my luck i guess. if you cant pass legally on the right, than you cant really fight that one. good luck though.

dats nothing my first ticket was an 88 in a 40 and to make it worse it wasnt in the m3 but a volvo:confused

eh illegal passing shouldnt be much, i wonder if its even points..not sure....its your first ticket, go to court and talk to the prosecutor, you'll be ok

What cops fail to realize is that sometimes (in our case b/c GA has a lot of idiots all the time) is that there are people that either do the speed limit or go below the speed limit in the left lane. The cop should have gone after the other driver for impeding the flow of traffic. GA highways have "Slower Traffic keep right" signs all over the place. People do not bother to read them because everyday I get caught behind some retard doing 65 in the 70 zone in the left hand lane. They refuse to move so what are you supposed to do?? Sorry for the rant, but it's all true...

That sucks that you got such a shitty ticket though. My friend got a ticket for not changing lanes when an officer had someone else pulled over for a first ticket. That was a messed up ticket but he had it reduced an improper lane change or something like that.

Just be extremely nice to the court. If they say why did you do it, or do you have an excuse. Say no. When i was in court, and people were all getting slapped with fines because they were making excuses about why they were speeding. When i went up to the judge, I told them i wasn't paying attention and it was my fault, no excuse to be speeding. And i just got slapped with court costs.....Be nice tell the truth, you'll be fine
