Just to let you know, virtually any car cover used in outdoor conditions will leave marring on your paint.
It can probably be polished out, but the wind will cause the cover to move against the car.
Best bet, if you absolutely must use one, is to have the car COMPLETELY clean before you cover it in order to minimize the effects.
But for just a few months, you might be better off just leaving it out unless you think it will be subjected to too much sap or bird bombs.

I have the bavauto NOAH cover for my e30. Like it alot --much more, in fact, then the same NOAH fabric cover for my E46 that I bought from a BMW dealer.

I have the Weathershield cover, not from Bavauto, but it doesnt mattter... The vendor doesnt matter; what does is the fabric used, which is why theyve all been patented.. Noah, Evolution, Weathershield, etc, etc. The Weathershield is the lightest and slickest. .It folds up nice and small, and can even be washed in the avg home washing machine.. try THat with the heavy Noah! The custom covers fit like a glove. Weathershield is more expensive, but its so light, its much easier to handle. I agree that you should always make sure the paint is clean and free of dust before applying. The cover has a strong elastic on the bottom, and I didnt experience any movement from wind. But in normal applying and removing, if theres any grit on the paint surface, you will get some minor scratching when the cover moves over it. But, its the kind of minor scratching that any mild paint polish will remove. Anything like Meguiars Scratch-X or 3M moderate strength cleaner wax will remove the light micromarring created by the cover over dust.

yeah i want to stay kinda on the cheap side.. just because where i'm living for the next month and a half all the parking spots are under pine tress.. lots of crap gets on it.. but then after that back to a garage.. I might just go without one and try to get the spot less covered by trees.

I bought the Bav Auto Ultimate for almost the exact same situation. My workplace had displaced us from garage parking to outside parking for a few months back when I had my E46. I used it everyday it was parked outside at work and I loved it. Light and easy to put on and off. The only hassle was after it had rained during the day. Needless to say I got a little wet.
I did notice some slight marring however simply buffed the slight marring away when we went back into the garage. I haven't used it since. I would agree with keeping the elements and treesap, bird poo etc. off your paint and you can easily remove any marring to your paint. Good advice has already been mentioned - ie. keep your paint as clean as you can while using it.
