like the title says lookin for some lowering springs for my e30 530i with sport package. preferably used so the cost is less, but if anyone knows a local shop around chandler/tempe/scottsdale area i would gladly check it out if they have decent prices. thakns

eibach is the lowest right besides intrax which i cant find. and does it matter if its not for sport suspension?

Eibach is not the lowest. Eibach is the most raked and the softest...even softer than factory sport...
Coilovers would be the lowest.
For just springs..
Intrax is the lowest. Then H&R. Then Eibach. Then factory sport.

I've got some OEM M5 springs...not sure they'd lower it though

M5 springs would actually raise a 530i.

i know its probably be covered 1000x over, but since this thread is already here, what springs would give a 1.5" front drop and 1" rear drop? I was actually kinda thinking about running 528/530 sport springs in the front

Cap,
for what you have planned, I'd say coilovers are your best bet.
i6 springs are going to be too soft for that big V8...

-- I have some 540it sport springs (front only, of course), along with front struts. Sway bar too, if you want to go there. Cheap... any interest?

yeah youre probably right, but im also thinking the 6.0 is going to be lighter than the 4.4 based on the sheer mass of the engine block, especially the heads since they are like half the size.
I wont be doing any spring purchasing until i have the new engine in anyway and measure to see if the body goes up or down, Im just tossing ideas around at the moment to see whats out there.

He has a 530, he cannot use your springs. Would they fit? Yes. Would they work? No.
M5 and 540 springs are sprung-rated for those cars. If you owned a 525 or 528 or 530 and went looking for springs, you'd notice that all three cars are grouped together; 525, 528 and 530 owners can share springs.
If you want Eibach Pro Kit or Bavauto Sport Springs for you car, DAN has a set for you. I'll PM you his e-mail address.

ok so i want intrax springs then. but where can i find them?
I thought eibachs were 1.3/1.0 and H&R were 1.3/.7 ?? i guess if there are wrong then i dont want eibachs espicially if they are softer than sports!!!!
SO...where can i find a good deal on those intrax or H&R. best deal on H&R i found was on ebay for like 269 shipped.

Raked meaning the front of your car is lower then the rear.

True; I was responding to Captain Morgain, who lists a 540i6.
FWIW, I thought that the 540i sport struts would work in my 528i. They don't, or at least not with the stock 528i top spring perch.
Cheers -

oh, well in that case, no thanks. I really dont think the touring stuff is going to be much different that what I currently have. Id rather go aftermarket at that point.

You won't be finding Intrax springs for a while....
They keep saying they're going to deliver, but they never do...
Call a vendor that sells them, and ask when they expect to have them in stock.
BTW:
H&R sports on I6er's ROCK!!!!!!!

I have H&R sport springs paired with bilstein HD shocks/struts and an M5 rear sway bar.
I love my suspension, but that doesn't mean it's right for you. I wouldn't call my setup harsh, but I wouldn't call it plush either....maybe I'm two clicks away from being harsh...:D
Do your research! You don't want to end up with a suspension that looks nice, but rides horrible....

I really think that my H&Rs with the FSDs and M5 sway bar are going to be the winning combo. My car is low - I can't imagine that it would be that much more so with Intrax. It cracks me up that you guys are splitting hairs on one tenth of one inch of initial lowering. Who says that the springs settle to the same height? That's what matters. Just food for though. My rear tire is tucked - not sure that I would want more than that.
By the way....
+1 for the OP using my car as his avatar.

What size tires in the rear? i want to run 275 35 18 Michelins in the rear.
And as far as the avatar...haha i saved a buncha those cool pics, then like a week later i wanted to change my avatar and it seemed the best since i have black 530. But THANKS!! i couldnt emember who posted it.

Not sure on the best prices out there now. You should be able to get them for approximately $275 or so. That's what I paid shipped.
They company I got them from was great at the time. However, I contacted them recently about Konis and after the first email exchange, several more went ignored (still haven't heard back in 2 weeks). I probably should say their name on here but I won't. :rolleyes
By the way, 275's may rub with lowering springs. You might have to roll your fenders (the inside lip).

I heard mixed comments about Intrax springs. Some people say they suck, others say they love them. It's personal preference I guess... but I would go H&R's, the give the car a nice drop and improves handling without sacrifcing too much ride comfort.

haha! I didnt realize that was your thread too. yeah they're 18x10 and yeah they rub. But a good fender rolling can fix that easily. and maybe (if you're into it) a little tire stretching. Not MAJOR euro stretch, just something subtle.
