View Full Version : Razr V3 phone and bluetooth problems - 2nd call

Okay, here's the problem...
when I'm talking on the phone and a 2nd call is coming in, sometimes the phone gets stuck in "waiting" mode and I can't disconnect either one of the phone calls or switch back to the car's system. The screen shows the 1st call as still active and counting time. Ultimately, I have to turn the phone completely off to disconnect all of the calls.
(note: as usual, have to open the phone to get the 2nd call - stupid, but that's a different discussion)

Anyway, took the car to the dealership to try to get the bluetooth He*l problem resolved, and all I hear is that they can't duplicate it and there are no SIBs about it. & no, they aren't talking about upgrading the Progman, even though I think they should.

Some quick advice would be appreciated. :help

Sorry, can't help you. Not enough people like me enough to call me at the same time, so I don't know if my car has the same issue.

Family and home, on the drive home. I'm sure that you probably have the same type of deal, just that they all call at different times. Thanks, anyway.

Don't have a different phone. Bought this one after having the car for a few months, based on the BMW recommended phones list.
It used to work fine with the car, so the issue is somewhat new (last month+). Any thoughts?

By the way, the phone works fine in the loaner 328i (not I-drive), so I'm thinking it has to do with the 335i and the I-drive.

This is a software issue with the phone. V3 can be quirky sometimes

I have a new V3m (firmware version 1.9.2) that I plan to have reflashed with the Alltel firmware (it has Verizon now; see my other post). The Verizon firmware can be a bit ... "flaky". And that's putting it nicely. :)
But I haven't experienced this particular problem on my 335i. I'll try it out when I get home this weekend.

I guess it would be different if it hadn't worked for me in the past, but now... who knows what the deal is. :confused
Since the call waiting works fine when it's not paired to the 335, Cingular/AT&T told me that it's the car and not the phone, and they won't let me trade in the phone. So BMW - where is that customer service???

I had exactly the same problem but rather than happening with call waiting, it happens when the call's dropped. No fix other than to power down the phone. Dealer says not a known problem, nothing to fix. I think it's bluetooth but there's nothing I can do.

Funny that I commented I never get two calls at the same time, but tonight I did. I have the newest Razr V3 something from AT&T. I bought it just about a month ago for the new car and I was able to go from one call to the other without any issue.

Any idea which firmware version? You can find it via Menu -> Settings & Tools -> System -> Device Info -> Other Information -> S/W Version.

Mine says NEWC_01.09.02 and as I mentioned, this is a Verizon phone.

Mine is AT&T. So, the software version is listed in a different menu, but I found it and this is what it says:

R2611MLD-AS_U_96.B0.OAR

I don't know if that will help you or not, but that's what mine says........

Happened to me again just a couple of hours ago. While the idrive display was showing "connecting," I drove into a dead zone...and that was that. Completely locked up and had to power down the phone to get out of it. It's annoying.

Actually, the phone or bluetooth/idrive/phone combo was cranky today anyway. The phonebook wouldn't come up and the joystick was non-functional in the communication menu. But if I used voice command "call xxx" up popped the phonebook. After the car sat for a few hours the same thing happened again.

Thanks. I'll go back to the other forums (cell phone discussions) and find out if this firmware is better/worse than what I have. Maybe I'll use this one instead, if I can ind a leaked version of it.

Btw, Reeves has replaced the brake booster valve. They said the part had to come from Germany, but it was installed within a couple days and I later heard, "Yeah, they found one in the regional inventory."

So far so good with the brake issue since Reeves also replaced my booster valve. Glad it was replaced for you too.
