Hello all.
Please feel free to flame me if I missed it but I have searched, checked the manual, and did everything I thought prudent to find out how to get the corona lights to come on during the day on my 335i steptronic sedan. Yes I tried the menu on the vehicle. Yes, I tried the positions on the headlight switch.
So, does anyone have first hand, no kidding, know for sure experience on how to get these to turn on in the sedan?

Do you wanna use the angel eyes as drl(daytime running lights)? If so, you can't do this on the e90, only the e92. If you just wanna turn them on, it's on click to the right from the off position. I'm not sure if i helped ya or not.

Hello "Babagnush":
YES... as daytime running lights. Sounds like it is not possible on the sedan. Damn their Deutsch engineer's eyes! This makes no sense. It is just software.

Oh.. that's not good. Oh well. I guess I will have to settle for high beams as DRL.

Hello "Takashi":
What got me started occured about 6 months ago on the Santa Fe bypass road when I was running blue shifted going south and this completely evil vehicle came up behind me. The glow from the corona rings damn near scared me into slowing down to the speed limit (about 1/2 my speed at the time). Lo and behold, it was another 335. Since then, I have tried to get mine to have the same headlight signature.
Perhaps it is something I need to take up at my next confession (yeah, like I am going to spend one more minute in a small room with a "father") but the absolute "Damien" image (think about the ice rink scene) made me realize that I could inspire fear and loathing into other drivers. Perhaps not.

The high beams are not the DRLs, there is an extra bulb in the same housing as the high beams that acts as DRL. At least that is how it is with my standard (non-xenon) headlights.

To the best of my understanding, the DRL's activate via the menu option accessed on the turn signal stalk. This will provide the two halogen lights (one on either side of the grill) to illuminate when the headlights aren't on. These lights are not the same as the high beams since the bi-xenon lens provides both the high beam and low beam function out of a single lamp.
If you want the "angel eyes" or "corona lights" to come on without the halogen beams you will need to deactivate the DRL option on the menu and simply turn the headlight switch on to the parking light position (one click to the right) as mentioned above. You will manually have to turn them on and off though.

Hello "markitzero":
Well praise be to you and YHWH. And may he "make of thee a great nation, and ... bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:"
In other words, great! It works. I disabled the DRLs and turned on the parking lights. Absolutely scary. I am looking forward to putting the fear of my friend Mephistopheles into lesser drivers.
Thanks again.

I haven't picked up my car yet (3 more weeks) and I will try it out first thing.
Anyway, so all you have to do is access the menu by using the signal stalk and disable DRL. I then have to turn on the parking lights to see the angel rings to light up??

Ha! You're funny. He was certainly right though. I kind of figured that out on my own eventually. I used the i-Drive to disable the DRL, because I think it's kind of dumb and I do use the parking lights a lot during the day because those angel eyes look so cool and I also really like how the tail lights look in the day or night. These cars are just so awesome... I don't know how I'll ever get tired of it. It's got a real serious look to the front of it, especially the way all the lights look and the air dam and grill. It's classy, but mean as hell and all business looking.
