Why are you showing the front end of an E92 when you are talking about changes to E90 headlights???

Well, it does look like the same grill with the crome surrounds just like on the E90. The E92's are more rounded or oval, where the E90's are kind of straight on the top part. Otherwise the headlight enclosure looks like the same shape as the E92, with different internal light components.

It is an E90 front end.

All the shots are an E90. Not one is an E92.
im guessing these are the halogen to xenon headlights!!

What's halogen to xenon? I've got halogen AND xenon, but different bulbs in different bulb housing groups... standard setup on the 335i.
But, yeah, what he said... it is an E90.

Xenon = low beam. If you didn't order it from the factory, this option let's get the Xenon without spending $$$$

OK, maybe it's my mistake. I was looking at the upper right corner of the picture where it appears to show the beginning of the fender reflector that is on the E92 and not the E90. Is that just a reflection off a nearby red/orange object?

some reflection or other.
who knows, but that's an E90.
No, since it seems the reflectors are no longer embedded in the headlight housing, it seems they moved it to the fender ala coupe.
No. The reflector is the bulb itself.

The bulb is the only reflective piece that is 'amber' per spec.
The headlight is a black out headlight, so there is no reflector inside of it.
And with all due respect, the "reflectors" designed to produce luminance in practice don't really do that all that well. that's what the DRL wiring for the angel eyes is for

Post 1:
No one moved any reflectors to any side. There are no reflectors to move. The reflectors are inside OE headlights - be they Xenon or Non-Xenon.
So your original comment of "moving" reflectors was wrong.
Post 2:
Then, I made the point that in actual driving, those same "amber" reflectors are as good as painted - which many customers do to their reflectors - and serve no practical purpose, although a theoretical purpose of course is there. In practice, most of our customers don't pay any attention to those. You might be one of those people that notices them but if you ask 100 people if they see the reflector, you'll have 99 people asking you what you're talking about.
Post 3:
Luminance or improved visibility of the other car is what the reflectors are theoretically designed to do. Ironically, DRL settings for the angel eyes makes the car far more visible than some rinky dinky amber reflector.
EDIT: I also have a LOT still to learn about the lighting setup on the new E90/92, but amber reflectors aren't one of those things. And my learning curve is a lot shorter than most people due to past and present experience with all forms of lighting.

I think both of you are right. I think it has something to do with the packages you get when you order them. But some have reflectors on the front of the wheel well and others dont. maybe the sport package? or Cold weather package?

Either way:) No matter.

Are they self-leveling with headlight washers?
Headlight washers are actually affixed to the bumpers, so no.
In a true sense, they aren't self-leveling because your car with halogens doesn't have it.

That picture quite clearly is an E90. Do you really have an E90?

Um, yeah. Do you? No need to be rude. If you read my other response you'll see I admitted my mistake. I was seeing what looked like the reflector (that is ONLY on the E92) in the upper corner of the picture on the fender well.
