Diagnostic software for 95 e34 540i?

I searched already but came up with nothing. What do i need as far as software and cable to be able to run a diagnostics/datalogging program on my car? 95 e34 540i obd1

Carsoft works for sure.

I have same car. INPA with ADS interface works. You will have to write your own logging routines tho, it's possible.


Carsoft won't read any live data from this ECU.

Is the ADS interface you are talking about the one from one-stop-factory.com? I made the mistake of getting the carsoft interface from ebay and its basically a $170 code reader. I am thinking I may sell it and go the ADS route but haven't decided yet
