What is the difference between interior and exterior apperance of the 325, 328, 330 and 335 bmw's?

It's the best to start out with a distinction of the coupes and sedans.

The new 3-series sedans debuted in 2005 (as a 2006 model) with the 325i and 330i. The only real difference that will be noticed is when the sport package is ordered because the wheels will be different. (The 325 and 330 both have different wheels for sport package, and even different from each other.) In 2007 (along with the introduction of the coupes) the sedans' engine choices were changed to the 328i and 335i. Again, wheels will be different and aside from that, the 335 has dual exhaust pipes on either side of the back. (Some xi models which are all wheel drive have different wheels as well). As far as the interior goes they're all pretty much the same, just depends on what options were ordered (i.e. nav).

The coupes debuted in 2006 (as a 2007 model) and again the only real differences are the wheels that are different with sport package. (And as with the sedan, the 335 has dual exhaust while the 328 doesn't).

That's pretty much the sum of it although it has been simplified a lot.

I always thought that the 335i looked a little bigger/longer than the 328i.

no - the dimensions are exactly the same inside and out. if you're curious, you can go to the bmw website, select the 328 and 335 and then, click "compare". you'll see ...interior measurements, exterior measurements are identical.

Couple more subtle differences between the 335 and 328 is the former had a chrome kidney grill and chrome around the windows, the latter is black. Other than that, the 335 comes with many standard items that are optional on the 328.

i think (if i'm wrong, please correct me!) there are only TWO items standard on the 335 that are options on the 328. memory seat for the driver -and the digital sound processor for the sound system.
wow - didn't even realize the trim on the grille was different. good eye, mr yakan

HID's are standard on 335 sedans and optional on 328's.

lol, yeah, I spent enough time in the showroom before I got my car to notice. In fact click on the pic in my signature and you'll see I installed the 35 chrome grill on my car. I love it and for 90 US (tax included) it's well worth. Esp. love it at night when street lights reflect off it.

Tyvil,
Ahh, thanks for the explaination.
But ...they're only optional on the 328 sedan. On the 328 coupe, they're standard.

Yes I know that. See my original post; it makes SPECIFIC reference to the sedan.

tyvil,
easy now ... i was just clarifying for the POSTER who asked about the differences btwn the 335 and 328.
ps: you'd be surprised how many of your fellow "client services" colleagues don't know that ... :)
