My moon roof isnt working right and the display shows a symbol that says in the manual, Pinch Protection System of the Electric glass roof malfunctioning. It says have the system checked, which i will. Anybody experience this on there 335i coupe. Hope this is the first and last problem i have. HOPE!

on two occasions i observed that the moonroof on my 328i sedan had slightly opened on its own! as if i had pressed the open switch for just a second or so. the roof was slightly tilted inward and i noticed it because i heard wind noise. this happend two times within the first month of having the car but has not happened since?!? i am positive that i had not touched the control.
another member had a similar experience. the roof has a mind of its own!
i did not receive any warnings however. i just closed the roof.

Someone mentioned you could get it to reset itself by going through the whole open/close procedure once or twice, but you probably already tried that!

I just had this same error code come up on my 07. Can't go through the open/close procedure, because it won't open more than about 3 or 4 inches.
Guess I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow.

the reset didn't work? You have to press up (vent position) for close to a couple minutes if I remember. you are starting from a closed-roof position? It's been awhile since I've done one. I've always been able to get it to work.

I tried all of that but it didnt work. When the tech got in and did it,he had it re-set in less than a minute. I was so happy it wasnt anything major that i didnt ask him the correct procedure to do it myself in case it happened again.I just gave him a ten spot and a handshake and split.

Hello "Kernel Kurtz":
Mine (on a 335i sedan) refused to close just as one of our biblical hail and rain storms (summer monsoons) hit. My only choice was to try to pry the headliner open and use the manual tool to close it. Of course when I took it in to the dealer a week later, everything except the frayed headliner was just peachy. They never offered to pay for the damaged headliner. I guess I should have let the rain damage the entire interior and then put in a claim for the sun roof's failure to close. Live and learn.
