Has anyone ever had their software updated? My car was in on the diagnostic tool today and they checked to see when my dme was last updated. It turns out it was in 1999. They are going to see if there are any updates they can download for my dme.

If the dme was "chip tuned" would these updates affect the tuning?

The Autologic diagnostic tool found the same O2 sensor problems that my peake tool found. It turns out that the peake tool does work on euro M3's.

Your 99 has I believe a Siemens ECU.
94 S50B30 has a Bosch ECU. They are totally different.
I was only referring to a 94 Euro M3 when saying That the Peake tool did not work on my car or my son's. Peake ended up refunding me .

The latest software I've seen is from 1999, and is version 4.14
and is found in the ECU marked as:

MSS50.1 5wk9026 1 406 611

If you have an MSS50 with a 5wk9025, it will probably have version 3.18

Yes, a software update over-writes the maps that would have been tuned.
