Hi,
The book says super premium is preferred
but a minimum of 87 AKI should be used.
Can I run regular in this thing?
2007 mini regular, auto.
Thanks.

you CAN run regular. It will slightly detune the timing, you'll make less power and get slightly lower mileage.
it is a pretty even trade off if you pay the extra 20 cents for premium with the better mileage you'll get, but it is really up to you.

That's what I had wondered.
I will just keep using premium.

Cool. We just accepted an offer on our house down in Shelby, outside of charlotte. I miss living down there, but jobs were hard to find in that part of the state.

I know what you mean.
I've had to move around myself.
I lived about 3 years in Mooresville (north of charlotte).
That was 10 years ago.
I think moving is the norm now.

I have thinking about getting a Mini, but having one the highs gas prices in the nations, about over $3 for 87. What do you do?

it wont retard the timing until it starts to detect engine knock, it has no way of knowing your running cheap gas until the knocking starts
I'm not sure if mid grade is ok? We have 87, 89, and 92 octane here
