I've had the car for years, and my insurance doesnt know what the hell kind of car it is either so it puts it down as a 318i. but i think thats bullshi*.
I'm thinking its a '93 325is. can anyone help me out figuring out what the hell it is?
also, i wanted to start upgrading some stuff, anyone have any sites they'd like to share with me?

Doesn't it say on a sticker in the drivers side door jam?
Is it a 4 cylinder or a 6? Two or 4 door?

now your insurannce may know more than you, it might have been a 318 but someone swapped the 2.5 I-6 in it, hence the vin would show 1.8 I-4, but the engine is actually the I-6. Get us the vin or some pics and we can help better.

how can you not know what car you have? :rofl
and why would you want to pay more for insurance by telling them you have a bigger engine? :dunno

you're an idiot if you tell them it's a 325. Forget about your ego and save a few hundred bucks on your car insurance.

It can happen quite simple. For example you inherited the car from your dad, but he died. So now you have no idea what the car is. A spouse of a friend of mine thinks that she drives Lexus, however it is BMW. She was really surprised when somebody pointed that to her. She really doesn't care about badges.

as others have said, check your door jam it will tell you the year and model of the car. As for modifcation, you can search here and look at what our supporting vendors have to offer.
Welcome.

She must not care about reading either. It only says BMW on the car in about 5,000 locations

1) Your insurance company is dumb
2) You, my friend, have a 1993 325is coupe
CarFax shouldn't have had to tell you that though. Open your drivers side dorr and look down. In the doorsill is a black panal ("plaque" if you wanna be snobby) and it says everything about the car right there.

Look at photos of 325i and 318i engine bays. Fleabay is good for things like that. See what you have.
