I think tow hooks are so mad tight DTM, when I get an m3 front bumper I'm definitely painting my hook red and sticking it in. Anyone else think leaving the tow hook in is sooo DTM that it makes the JDM guys jealous?:D

its usually illegal to use a tow hook like that with most sanctioning bodies that you would be racing in. They need to be hinged or tucked up under the bumper, or a nylon strap or somthing, otherwise you would have a nice spike on the end of your car that could do more damage or become in tangled in a compeditors car if you should give them a little bump draft... so if you are into make belive its cool.

I use shaped charges on my bumpers....offending cars are blown up upon impact.

Many times I park very far from other cars but when I go back to my car there's a car just in front or behind mine... people love to park close to BMWs.

Believe it or not I had that idea in my head since I bought the car, I was even going to buy another tow hook and put it in the rear... I never did it and I know it would look like sh*t but it may still be a good idea.

Deffinatly old school and bad ass. all of you that are hating are the ones that have maby watched some races from your couch at home, and have never gotten into historic racing. My dad has got one of the nicest 2002's in the region, and if you are a BIMMER Magazine fan, look back to march of 97. he has got a 5 page article in that one, and the title is "Der Hocken", which is The hook in english. get some real bmw ethusiasm going. i may be an e36er, but i will %110 agree that pre e36 were the only Real BMW's made. so old school is bad ass. i personaly have the red hook on my front bumper, and all i get is good coments on it. plus i have been in a possition where i needed to get towed out of somthing, and when the smart tow truck drivers hook their hook up to your sway bar, or control arm, or even tie rod, dont bitch because they will not pay for the damages. either way, i drive on the street and on the track, and i vote its BAD ASS!:alright

there's always one of your kind at track weekends who run around telling people how it is because they know it all.

Haha yes, you just hit the nail on the head. Because that’s exactly what I said. But some people in here are not "track freaks and veterans". Not bashing anyone but if you can try to say that looking at MAXSPEED will change my opinion; you’re defiantly not worth further talking to. The point to my post was to state the pure fact that it is old school, and bad ass, just as I posted. So instead of stereotyping people into thinking they walk around and tell people how it is, think. I think the growing up needs to be done elsewhere than here. So sit those hot pants down
oh and I am defiantly not one to run around telling people how it is because I know it all. And for future reference, I never bashed on those people, I talked to them, make sense of what they say, kick the bs out, and gain knowledge and power. Maybe you can advance from this instead of running your mouth, Mr. know it all

trolls.
you just took what i meant you should do and wrote it down to make people believe that it's how you are.
i guess you kids really have an alternate life on the internet.
and now all the other immature little trolls are jumping in because it's cool to gang up on people.
you're just proving my point. maybe one day you'll grow out of it, but i doubt it.

I saw a guy park a 993 GT3 when I was running in the store today, complimented him on the car, and as he walked away, saw a tow hook protruding from the bumper. Because of this dumb thread, I couldnt help but laugh! Who knows, maybe he tracks it?

most sanctioning bodies require that your tow hook doesn't extend past the furthest point of your bumper/splitter.
i use TCDesign foldable tow hooks. 2" ID as required by most organizations. I run dat shyt on da street cus i'm so bling bling & racer son!! :buttrock
what's next, bolt-in rollbars on the street just for that aggressive "racer" look? :help
