Hey I just bought a set of Work Meister's for my m coupe 18x8 and 18x10.5, my question is.... Has anyone ever had this brand of rims on their car and if so did you need centering rings? Also, were you able to use stock lug bolts or was the seating and/or the length not right?

The stock lug bolts wont fit cause the Works are cone seat.

That's what I thought, but I had a look at my stock lug bolts and they ARE cone seats, or at least Im 99% sure they are. Here is my reasoning.... the link to this website shows a picture of the only 2 kinds of seats a lug bolt could possibly have; cone and ball ---> http://prestigewheel.com/mainBolts.htm
Mine look like the cone seated ones, NOT like the ball seat.
Now Im completely confused because the only response I have gotten says I cant use my stock lug bolts, I guess I will have to wait till they get here to figure out what I need.

You should use hubcentric rings always. Work is a GREAT brand for wheels btw, excellent choice with the Meisters

Its very very rare that the stock lugs would be cone seat. But if they are then go for it.

NYe36er: Thanks for the info... where might I find a set of rings that fits my M Coupe? My stock wheels dont use the rings, but I thought that's because they are hubcentric rims.
NoOneBetter: I don't know how rare it is to have cone seats from the factory but here is a picture of mine... I think it looks more like a cone :dunno

yea those are cone seat. They should be fine to use then. One more thing to look for is to make sure that they are long enough but that shouldnt be too much of an issue, just a precaution.

NoOneBetter: thanx for the clarification....but what is a good way to tell if they are long enough? Is there some sort of process to evaluate the proper length they should be?

The best thing to do is to just test fit it. As long as you get at least 5-6 full turns on the bolt then it should be fine. I've also had some instances where the bolts were too long and damaged brakes which is also something to watch out for.

Not on a bmw... they've always been cone seats.
