Hi guys,

I am FINALLY going to pull the trigger on some snow tires this season and need some suggestions. I have a full set of 8.5 contours that I was going to use for my winter wheels. What is the narrowest tire I can use on these? 225's? Also, any ideas for what tires to get? TIA, I just wanna get this done so I don't have an "incident" like I did last winter... :( I'm all ears! (or eyes in this case :stickoutt)

Snow tires are a great investment.

I have the stock staggered setup on my car (7.5" fronts and 8.5" rears). I bought Dunlop Graspic DS-2 tires all in 225/45/17.

It was a huge improvement in traction. I recommend them.

Here is some info on them:

A 8.5" wide rim is 215mm. You could probably go as narrow as a 205/45 17 and still be within 2 tenths of an inch of the stock diameter of the 235/40 17's.

Honestly, I'm not real concerned about maintaining the stock diameter... I'm more interested in the best snow performance. Last winter was on nearly bald 245 MX's which resulted in a "revamped" front end. I don't want a part 2...
