One of my o2 sensor wires shorted out some how(the actual wire on the chassis, the one which the o2 sensor plugs into). Where in the engine bay is this wire (well 4 wires bundled) located? I need to replace it. Thanks
And yes I've checked realoem.com

If everything is the same almost, you should just pull the Cover off of the fuel rail (the long thin cover with the 2 pop out plugs on it).
And then the fuel rail being exposed will have two sets of wires running on it midway. You should then see two connectors plugged in to the wire harness. Thats the 1st set of O2 sensor connections.

Thanks, yeah the 323 has 2 o2 sensors, 1 pre 1 post cat. Hopefully the pre-cat wire plug is there.

Oh sorry
I thought it would have 4 sensors.
The other one should be running up along the fuel lines then in front of the rear of the main wire bundle. Well at least on my 96 328i it does.

Same problem here. I have a quote of $2000-2500 to replace the wire harness in the engine bay.
FRICKIN' OUCH!!!
Anyone else with shorts from the fuses down to the O2 sensor?
