what size are the brembos? I have the UUC older BBKs and I have no complaints. The calipers are made by PBR and the rotors are a standard racing rotor. It performs very well over and over again. I am waiting on UUC to get their new BBK ready tho to try a set of my car. :) I have the front and rear 13" older UUC BBK on my car acutally.

If you're talking about the new UUC.. I would just wait it out and see how it goes. Brembo is more expensive but it's tried and true.

Would any 13" Brembo be the same? Could you could buy these and sell the rotors?

See this thread, it is asking the exact same thing:

Brembo vs. UUC (http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=82846)

There's a new contender: the UUC UBBK.

Rob,
quick questions for you:

1) Can the polished caliper be painted?
2) with a front BBK, would/could/should the stock fronts be relocated to the rear?

Any caliper can be painted, assuming you use the correct sort of high-temp paint and are careful not to foul the piston openings, bleeder screw, or line fittings.

However, the UBBK is available in red and black, and if you want an alternate color (primary colors, not BMW-specific paint codes) we can build that for you on special order - note that additional time would be required. Please contact me directly with specific requests.

Your front brakes are not a direct bolt-on for the rear, and no adapter exists. Regardless, this would not be possible because the front caliper's pad height is taller than the rear rotor can accept. BMW rear rotors have the integral parking brake drum, leaving less swept radius even compared to same-size front rotors.

But more importantly is the question do you need to upgrade your rear brakes when you do a front bbk. We address this on our FAQ page, please click here: http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/ubbk/ and then select the FAQ link at the left.

Personally I would go brembo. Stainless brakes corp has a somewhat bad rep in the domestic (5.0) crowd. I'm not knocking UUC. They have some great products for bimmers.

Im asking 1850 shipped for my Porsche big red bbk with alcon rotors. Brand new, never used, paid much more, went with a larger BBK by movit.

Honestly, I have heard nothing but the opposite. We did a lot of research about SSBC before getting into bed with them, and I found nothing but rave accolades.

Visiting their facility always reveals a number of extraordinarily interesting manufacturer's concept cars that need special brakes. Now technically they're not OEM on production cars, but it's almost like they are OES ("S" for Showcar!).

They look pretty freakin awesome under those LMs if you ask me.;) http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/ubbk/brakepix/UBBK_LM1.jpg

One thing with UUC is you get customer service not saying brembo doesn't give you that also but you have the whole board to work with you and also you get a direct answer from the main person from UUC also.

It all comes down to preference also...if you want brand name Brembo and pay the big bucks for em...go ahead..but if you want the same thing for less money and put that towards install then I go with UUC b/c basically they are both made to stop well during off and on the track. This is just my 2 cents of comments though.

If you get brembo why not just buy the acutal porsche caliper, rotor, and pad and just buy the bracket....it comes out cheaper. The Porsche words looks 10X better than brembo.

Some people may be more biased than others but I been happy with all the UUC products so far. If it helps any, you can bitch if something doesn't work on the boards and UUC will come and respond ASAP where as Brembo could care less what the hell you write. UUC comes down to they respect every customer and makes sure they are absolutely happy. Some companies that are so big they can care less if they lose one or two customers.
