I just replaced the tierods on my 97 328i and saw how much wear the caused to my front tires so i need to replace them so Im looking to do them all. I currently have pirelli pzero nero m+s 225/40/18s all around ive had them for two years and felt they wore out too fast. That plus they absolutley suck in any kind of snow and even rain makes me a lil worried. Im looking at the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (150ea) and the Continential ContiExtreme Contact(110ea) I like the reveiws and ratings the pole positions have but the contiextreme are not too far off. One of my big concerns is price are they worth 160 more for a set then the ContiExtreme(I pay tuition rent and everything else myself so Im kinda strapped for cash). I live in Philly so I have a good mixture of crap weather I was wondering if anyone has ran either or both and could give me some feedback. Thanks.

I am trying the Kumho Ecsta ASX. They won't see snow since I have a dedicated set of Bridgestone Blizzaks for that. They will see their share of rain, like this morning. No complaints. I do some spirited driving, and they seem up to my limits anyway.
235/45/17's and 255/40/17's.The set of 4 cost me under $500 shipped from the 'Rack.

I love General Exclaim UHP's. #1 rated on Tire Rack, unbeatable prices, and they last forever (but do get noisy after a couple of years).

How are the General's rated #1? In their test results it came behind the Kumho SPT is practically every category.
