Tuning software for 2000 540

I'm trying to find software to reflash the fuel/spark maps and the VANOS as well. All the software I've seen so far is read only.

What software do the 'tuners' use at dyno tuning facilities?

theres a bunch of options for your car, listed in the order of their cost


MTH-Cartune(only works with MTH files)
EVC Spi
Optican
Byteshooter
frieling spi

Desoldering the chip is always another option, only try this if you REALLY know what your doing
ive seen big tuners that cant even solder properly, PSOP44's are tiny and delicate
not to mention the fun of lifting a pad off the board :)
soldering is best left to the pro's (anyone with real SMD rework experience)

or theres always the ebay junk, use that stuff at your own risk
