for the euro motors, besides the 50 deg C. and the 80 deg C. thermostats offered by bmw, are there any other options?

same applies to the fan switch that screws into the side of the radiator.

Those are the only two variants I'm aware of.

50degC one would have the car run on cold start mode in winter and the heater will not work wery well.

Ill check out one of the uk based bmw forums as they suggest a cooler thermostat when they delete the front viscus fan.

they are available only OEM? I can't find a aftermarket one.

I may be wrong about this, but I think from memory that my LTW came with a fan switch with two outputs.... The Bentley manual could elaborate, check the wiring for 95 model year.

There were two fan settings, so you could re-wire it to choose a custom variation, ie, to have hi setting triggered at the lower temperature. You could always bring the wires into the dash area, and take control by yourself. I've heard of autocrossers who like to manually switch on their fans before the critical run to cool the engine off. This would be the avenue.

Or, even simpler, I went to aftermarket companies like JEGS or whatever, to find customized switches for the temperature I wanted.

(that was years ago, to be upfront, I don't recall what temperature I chose)
