How common is 16" tires on a 528I

The reason I ask this is that I am needing to replace the tires on my recently purchased 2000 528i non-sport. My tires on the car are 225/55/r16 and some of the tire websites do not list 16's for my car. Only 15 as standard and 17 for the sports.

This is confusing to me. Would anybody know if it is normal for a 528i to have 16's and why does some of the tire websites not offer 16's when I enter my car?

“16” was the standard non-sport size starting somewhere around 1999 – don’t know exact year, but that’s not really important; they are not uncommon.
Why don’t all websites show it? They aren’t accurate or up to date – that’s not uncommon either.

I know the 540i came with 16's and the sport package got 17's, maybe your car got the 540 non sport optioned wheels?
