engine noise?????????

every once in awhile when i hit the brakes and engage the clutch i hear this noise like im draging a bunch of soda cans??? it is completetly random when it happens, and i just got a new clutch? what could be wrong

On the belts, AC or drive belt you have tensioner roller, when the bearing are doomed you have to change the roller. Not very difficult and not expensive. The noise resembles like a chain or valve noise if I get it wright. I had the same problem on acceleration . went to the dealer and he pinpoint this problem .

that could be, but its not really a valve or chain noise, and it only happens during deceleration. And im not kidding it sound EXACTLY like im dragging soda cans under my car

Could be engine mounts?? Does it continue after you've come to a stop and you're sitting there idling, or does it stop??

If your engine mounts are bad, the entire engine could rock forward when you hit the brakes and your fan could be hitting your fan shroud (or something else) causing this noise...

Could be detonation due to poor quality gas. Tends to sound like soda cans dragging. THese cars are known for pinging off the line.

it happens when i hit the brakes occationally. not after i have stoped just while braking? today i had to hit the brakes hard and it made the noise and shot my clutch pedal out at me? gas? if i ever did put low eth. gas in. which i cant believe i ever would? will it fix itself over time?
