View Full Version : GB: On Schroth Harnesses (possibly if enough people)

I know Docwyte tried to get people involved; but, no one really seemed interested. These are the best prices I can get for you guys.
10 harnesses (5 people) - $230 per side
16 harnesses (8 people) - $220 per side
20 harnesses + (10 people) - $210 per side
This would be for the harness/pads/and adjuster grips.
I know some of you will ONLY want the harness and not the pads, and not anything else. I have not inquired as to ONLY the harness. Most people get everything. So, technically, it should not be that hard to reach if people are TRULY serious.
I will get more information if people need. Don't flame me either saying these prices suck, etc. These are for the E36 clip-in and out belts. I can find out about just normal Schroth's; but, I don't know if we have enough interest. I know these prices are somewhat similar to Docwyte's prices.
This does NOT include shipping and handling. I already purchased these; so, I do not get anything from setting this GB up or receive anything special. I have not installed them yet; but, I could take a generic picture if there are enough people interested.
Thanks,
James

When do you plan on ending this GB? Just so I know when I would need my $$ in by - I'd want at least a driver's side, and probably the front pair.
Thanks,

Hey, not bad pricing. Harnesses cost $225 a piece usually, plus $20 for adjusters and $60 for two sets of pads. Which acutally confuses me...Ricers pay $60 for those damn friggen pads that say type R in huge letters?!? I got them and I felt guilty paying that much!

Well, I think realistically we could get 20 harnesses sold, that's really like 10 people. There has to be that many people interested in DE's. You REALLY do kind of need something like this on the track, especially as you go faster. I would say it's good for novice-intermediate. ADvanced you'd probably want racing seats. I was sliding around in my vaders using normal seatbelts.
As far as how long the GB lasts for?? Well, I would suggest one month. That should give people enough time to allocate funds. If anyone is interested in the non-clip Schroths, let me know, I'll price those out as well.
If anyone wants pictures, I purchased these about 4 weeks ago (I should have waited, I could have added 2 harnesses to the total). Let me say, they are pretty awesome. You also MAY have to get both sides if you are a novice, some DE's require that you have the same restraining system for the instructor as well as yourself...just for your information.

I'd be interested in driver and passenger harnesses for my M3. How's this GB going to be set up payment wise? How many people are interested so far?

Well, DO NOT count me. I purchased it a month ago (sorry; but, hey, I paid full price for this crap). So far, it looks like 6 total harnesses, you need at least 4 more (or two more complete sets).
You'll be paying a tuner company called "Induktion" directly, and from that point on will be dealing with the owner. I've learned my lesson from previous GB's only to deal with the owners than some sales rep.

Yes. of course it's for the E36 BMW; but, he can get any of the schroth harnesses as well..... here's the person's name to contact. Email him and see what prices he can get now. His name is Ed and I have met him and will personally vouch for him. Pete, you've met him as well I think; but, maybe you do not remember. He has the very nice S4 (stage II+, etc). KJ his friend has the 996 porsche, and audi s4, etc.
efuhrman3@comcast.net
Email him directly and just tell him what you told me. That makes 4 sets, which you need 6 more complete sets. You might make it. So, email him and see what he says. See what the best price he could get now for you. If he can offer the $230 price, it may be worth it just to go ahead and purchase it now rather than waiting to save $20.00.
Plus, if you only want the harness and nothing else, you could also see his price.
Thanks!
I'll post pics this weekend.

Rahul - if you do BMW CCA events, you know that most of them require that whatever harnesses you have for the driver, you also have to have for the passenger side as well. I'm not sure about other clubs; but, you might want to look at that ....

Hey guys - how much longer is this GB running, before it closes up and $$ is due?
Just wondering, so I can plan the finances --- 'pparently a li'l place called UUC brought out some new E36 pullies recently :)
Thanks!

I believe we should keep it open until we meet the minimum numbers, has everyone here contacted Ed then to notify him of interest? We should be damn near 10 sets if people are actually going through with their orders...

I would be interested in a GB for the Clip-In's units (Rally4 I believe). They retail $225. Let me know what you can do with these.

///Manuel my friend, the high altitudes getting to you?? hehe... that's what this group buy is about...see above!
Okay people, it seems that there are enough people if EVERYONE is actually going to do it. Thus, if you are 100% serious, Ed can place the order ASAP, and as soon as you guys pay.
Thus, please contact Ed again and tell him EXACTLY what color you want,
I count 6 people who expressed interest or said flat out Im in. I have only received emails from 2 (pete and justin) Justin wants the universal style harnesses, no pads, but want
the adaptors -I worked out a price for him. If all the people who replied are ready to go, I can place the order and get things going...I just need to know what color belts and pads they want..
Thus, as you can see, ONLY TWO people actually emailed him, so, you can see that there is some discrepancy between people that said definitely and have actually gone that one step further and contacted him.
There's enough people here to do the GB.
Good luck Guys!

guys,
count me out of the GB, i just picked up a pair of Schroth Rallye 4 harnesses(NOT the clip-in/clip-out kind) including the adaptor bolts and shoulder pads from a fellow bfc member for $200. could not justify spending $200 for one harness, when i could buy 2 for the same price. One of my buddies at work has the same set and he just folds the harness and pushes them under the seat when he does'nt use, so i just went ahead and bought the regular Schroth Rallye 4 harness.
