my 93 325i e36 is overheating, i have seen that the fan is not running fast enough so tried to change the viscuss fan, but i cant get the old one off because i can't stop the pulley behind from turning with hexagon bolt in front of it,
i hope this solves the problem,

put the wrench on it while someone holds one of the four bolts behind that larger bolt and then if its really hard hit it on an angle with a hammer to scare it loose. Thats how i did mine then i installed an electric fan

Yea i had made a special took with a long handle that holds the 4 bolts on the water pump and then i can loosen the fan from the clutch. Its not that hard...just getting the machines to make the peice is
