HI, I've ordered at BMW dealer 1liter circa of montrealblau paint (#297), because I need to repaint my front bumper.
After a week they call me telling that it is not being produced anymore, so they can't do nothing...
It's my dealer bad or is true?
How is there in USA?
code number should be : 51 91 0 027 665
please tell me something great... otherwise I have not excuse to paint all car to Avus:D
You can go to a shop with the paint code (3 numbers - its on your tower) and that'll make it up for ya!
O/T: but any chance of a full size pic of your avatar?

You can also go to an automotive paint store.
Give the the code for your paint, or they have
a book with color squares for you to look in.
Then they will mix it up for you.

Yes, but is not in project soon...
damn, I hope that they'll stop making other colors too:embarrasm:devillook
but there isn't a time from last car built (ex: 10 years) until bmw must produce all spares for that car?
(sorry if I can't explain better... bad English, but I think that you'll understand the question..)

From what I understand with parts for older cars it all depends on what part. From what you were told paint might only be available for a limited time. I think fabric is onlt available for a certain time.
My dealer told me that generaly most mechanical parts are available for older cars - ie 30 yrs old.

It can usually always be color matched by mixing it. Check some other places first like if you have a body shop or something.

I found a little shop that do quality tuning works and paint jobs...
they matched easily my colour by color code, removed old paint and repainted it for the equivalent of 45$... (paint and included in that price)
The guy worked years ago in Germany for a great know tuning shop..
Is a great deal (45$)? How much is there in USA for a bumper REpaint?
This is cheaper than others in my zone and is better done!
Quality is perfect! I'll put some pictures... :biggrin
I should ask him how much it want to repaint all the car:D
