I am planning on selling my car in a few years for an M Coupe. I was wondering how safe this car is. It is extremely tiny, and if it was in an accident, I don't know how safe it would be for the driver and passenger. And it's pretty damn low to the ground also. Is it a pretty safe car?

z3 and the coupes are solid cars.. i forgot the website.. but there was a site where people with z3's got into wrecks and shows the cars.. the cars are wrecked (totaled) and looks like hell.. but the driver and passager doing 100+ and into a telephone pole didnt die.. they walked away from it.. there were quite a few other ones too.. like roll overs, etc.. all the cars were totaled.. looking at them , you would think u died.. but in 90% of cases people walked away.. the other 10% there was no critical injuries.. but if u get hit or ran over by something like a hummer h2.. might not be so good

My biggest fear in the coupe is a side impact from an SUV.
Im guessing an SUV bumper to the head is going to probably kill.

Side airbags would prolly help.

MCoupes have side impact airbags. I feel as safe in mine as I do in my M3, though I am sure the Audi would do better. I have been in a few BMWs during wrecks and seen enough accident damage on them that I feel pretty comfortable driving it daily. I defintely would be more worried in a open convertible.
Insurance rates are very low in the Coupe as well (much lower than my M3, considering vehicle potential and equipment). This might be because of their safety record as well as low-theft rates.

That could be due to the low sale numbers for the M Coupe, right? I love the car, I am considering getting one in a few years
