Quick question about hood struts

So I think that the guy that I bought my car from cheeped out and bought new hood struts for my car that are shorter than OEM, and as a result the hood doesnt open as far as it should and its hard to work under. Can someone that knows they have the proper OEM struts, measure the length of their struts with the hood open so I know if mine are too short?? Thanks for your help.

mine are about 15 inches

Thanks, is that center to center of the pins, or end to end? Thats interesting because mine are right around that length too, maybe they are in fact the correct length

that is the end to end measurement and it was no problem man

Thanks again. I guess I'll stick with that I got and spend my money on something else! It is tough to work on the last few cylinders though, but if that's what the BMW engineers wanted then I'll just have to rely on the insulation to keep my head from getting too many bruises!
