I just put my smoked corners in because awhile ago I lost a corner light on the highway because it came loose ... the original owner had siliconed them in i think prior to me owning the car but i had changed the bulb on one of the lights and never re-siliconed it... well i got screwed hah
so i am probably gonna silicone them again but i remember reading awhile back that someone used zip ties and somehow attached them to their car so if they ever did come loose the zipties would hold them on until u pulled over and fixed em
let me know if anyone has ever done this!
cheers! GREATLY appreciated!

how come everyones corners fall out?
i have depo smoked corners, and i even broke one of the things that sticks into the body...they are not even close to loose....
but yeah, i bet zip ties would work fine....they work for everything
and silicone would be ok....but then its a pain if you ever have to take the corners out

I broke the same piece as you and got all pissed about it only to find out it wasn't the corner that was messed up it was the rails on the headlights had become old and stretched out and whatnot. WHen I got my depos they hold in fine
To the OP: Try taking them out...Drilling a tiny hole in the clip piece that has the notch on the end. They feeding a string or zip tie through there up and around that bar piece that goes over the headlights. The body colored one that the back screws of the headlights go into. I have some around there for my DEPO back casing cause it won't clip shut. Hardly noticeable and doesn't affect anything else

You would not believe how many zip ties and speed tape (aluminum Tape), are all over an airplane! Being a airplane tech, I use them both almost on a daily basis. No need to worry, all FAA aproved!

Just find something sturdy to zip tie them to, even if it takes two or three zipties linked together like a chain to reach. I drilled a hole in the locator tab on the corner assembly and used a couple zipties to connect it to the nearest thing in the engine compartment that I felt could support a flailing corner light without breaking.
This was after I lost the M3's passenger side corner one day while deep into fifth gear :shifty I doubt the ties would have held in that instance, but hopefully they would be of some use at more reasonable speeds. I'm just about to install smoked corners on the new E36, so I'm sure I'll be doing the same within a week or two.

I have everything siliconed in. When I changed my corners all I did was run a blade along the silicone and "poof." comes right out. The rest you can peel off just like string cheese. I like using it because once it dries, it's almost impossible for it to pop out. Also, it closes up any little gaps you have that collect air at higher speeds.
