Report it. Call them over and get them to check it out. And tell them about your neighbor. Thats retarded, hunt him down. Also invest in a good alarm system. Thats one thing I def plan on getting.

option one:
tell him about the break in. then tell him you replaced it all to the tune of close to a grand. go buy a gun. wait. problem solved
option two:
call honkey patroll
option three:
humm to yourself while you drive. suck it up. go buy a pair. then see option one.

I always double-lock my doors. I would just make it abit more difficult for them.

Chances are it was someone in your neighborhood.
Go buy a cheap skateboard. Find your neighbor and then break board over his head.

how do you double lock?
Lock the car, return the key to the middle and lock it again. You can't unlock the doors except with a key.

I would do a stake out; plan, act like you just replaced everything put some really nice things into your car, park it so its close to your neighbors house and make sure your neighbor sees what you're doing. Act preoccupied so you don't seem like it bothered you all that much about the earlier incident. Then get some of your buddies to come and keep a camera focused on the car from inside your house and wait for this dumbass to break into your car again (or for your sake, don't even lock the doors) keep the camera running capture everything.
Then if he takes the bait, he'll open up the car, wait for a sec or two confront him and make sure your friends come too so he doesn't run away. Turn the camera off and do work, and make sure you hand over the camera to the police and sue him.

i had my old car broken into twice. If you leave your face plate in then you know it's getting stolen, in my neigborhood at least. without the face plate in they would have not taken the radio.

Dial 311. Don't call 911 unless it's a real emergency.
Lock the car, return the key to the middle and lock it again. You can't unlock the doors except with a key.

WTF? I'm pretty sure when you turn the key to the lock position once the car automatically "double locks". No need to turn it twice.
