My slotted rotors (were on car when I got it) have become warped. There's a whole set on ebay for $139.50. I can't post the link, but if you search for "BMW 328ic E46 323 X-Drilled Slotted Brake Rotors", you'll get the exact auction I'm talking about.
Any opinions on these? Are they crap? I'm not racing or anything.
thanks
Pete

Well, they are cheap... most likely they will warp too, though.

Don't cheap out on rotors. You can get the nice Brembo OE or slotted or drilled or whatever for cheap enough. Hell, even the Bavauto brand ones are decent enough.

I would just stick with OEM blanks or if you must, slotted rotors.

If you go with slotted rotors, make sure the slots dont go all the way from the inside of the rotor to the outside, they should be in the middle only.

Slots that go all the way across the rotor are weaker and more prone to warping.

Remember you get what you pay for. and brake system isnt something you want to go cheap on. If anything just get OEM. Otherwise forck over the $$$$ to get the right drilled/slotted rotors.

There are members on the board running ebay kits, do a search for ebay brakes or ebay rotors.

Don't get x-drilled, if anything get slotted or oem blanks. X-drilled jeopardizes the integrity of the rotor, and can crack under high stress. Brembo makes the cross drilled oe for merc, bmw and porsche, but it's mainly for looks. I agree with the other poster, stick with oem blanks. If anything, change your brake pads. Some friends of mine are bmwcca club racers, no one uses cross drilled. My neighbor is a bmw driving instructor, he's been racing for 30 years, and he says oem blanks. However for street purposes, i don't think it will be much of a problem for you. But I would personally stick with oem blanks to be safe. plus, x-drilled cuts down on the life of the brake pad.
