Lately, I've gotten the brake pad wear sensor and thus decided to get new brake pads. (only the front one's need to be changed) Thus I looked on pelican to see what parts they had and Pelican offered 2 different OEM brands; Pagid and Mintex. I've heard of pagid but haven't heard of mintex. The Pagid brake pads are $13 more expensive. Does it really matter which brand I should put into the car? Both state to be OEM.
PS: Would I have to buy another sensor or could I reuse the same sensor I already have on my car if I want my sensor light to go away?

+1
and if you just cut off the brake pad wear sensor and tie the 2 wires together the light on the dash will go away. so then you dont need to replace the sensor. unless you need it to tell you when to change your brakes. ;)

Just buy all the pads for 4 wheels and you'll get sensors included, front and rear. Just don't cut the damn sensors. Whyd would you do that? Why would you delete such a nice add-on that tells you when your pads are worn?
Do it yourself, the easiest thing to do on your car. Be a man, not a pussy getting it done by indies.

lots of write-ups on brake jobs.
www.bimmerdiy.com to get you started.
Replacing brakes and calipers was the very first thing I ever did on my old car (mazda) and have since always done my own brake work. My old car had a problem with the calipers freezing frequently, so knowing how to do it myself saved me a TON of money.
I just recently installed Hawk HPS pads.
While the brakes stop well and there is virtually NO DUST, the pads squeal at low speeds and its very annoying.
If I can find another pad that will dust as little as the Hawks do, still stop as good as stock or better, and dont squeal, Ill go ahead and pay the money to switch even though these pads are only 2 months old.
