Of the "soon to be" 1 series coupe will have the m1 model with the older 3.2 litre m3 engine. I have no clue if thats right but I am considering purchasing the 1 series and seeing if you guys know more than me... I dont know if there has been other threads about this so I apologize in advance if there is.

I heard the rumor that they were planning an M car for the 1 series. I know that they wouldn't want to call it the M1 because of the predicesser. I have seen 1 photo of a 1 series coupe with the M style exhaust and I also heard of the e46 m3 engine being the powerplant. I'm not exact on it all though I just heard the rumors.

The 135i comes with an M-aero package and M style badging. That might be what you have heard of or seen. It has the N54 out of the 335i though.

Some of the car rags are saying there will be a true M version of the 1-Series Coupe (M1, M2, or ?). Frankly, if it will have the S52 engine I wouldn't be too interested as the 135i with a Quaife LSD and software would be similar performance and better fuel mileage, especially at my altitude (7K ft.).

S54 = the 3.2L 333hp engine used in the E46 M3 and the Z series M roadsters and coupes (except the 98-00s).

Ah, my bad. I meant S54, not S52. I still would not want an 1-Series M-car with an S54.
