View Full Version : Does an S52 or M52 head fit on M50?
Does any one know if their is any H.G. problems or any others with fiting a s52 or M52 head on a M50 tu ( vanos) motor?
And does any one have one for sale :stickoutt a M50TU or those other heads if they do fit?
I have a spare S52 head but I would rather not use it for this motor( stock 325I), or at least have a replacment S52 head.

I believe they would all work together assuming you have management covered. Have someone else confirm though.

ummm That does not help much.... :shifty
One head is OBD1 one head is for an OBDII motor I was hoping some one here knows the excat details in the diffrances if any.
Is the chamber volume the same? More? or less? ect. Do all the oil and coolant holes line up corectly...

it swaps over but you'll need to tap the s52 head for the second temp sensor that the obd-1 motors use.
search for obd-1 conversions in the e36 faq thread on this board (top of the e36 forum) and you'll see what you need to do to do it right.
good luck,
Ron

Thanks this is what I was looking for....
Still would be nice to know if the chambers are the same size.
