electrical problem i think

my 1993 325i keeps running for about 5 to 6 sec. after i take the key out or let off the clutch and it stalls. anyone have a clue on what the problem could be? im new to bmw's so i dont know much about them and every shop i take it to says that they dont work on bmw's because its alot of work. any help would be appresiated.
