I just picked up a used flywheel, pressure plate and clutch disc from a 2000 Z3 M Roadster and the disc has at least 50% left, but I figure that it might be worth it to get a new disc. I'm wondering if it's worth it to upgrade just the clutch disc and if so what's out there?

I found one at clutchnet.com for around $100 (organic) iirc, but is there another decent upgraded disc out there that will work with the stock pressure plate?

TIA.

I have one that i just remove from my car yesterday but i am not sure if it would work for you car or not. its off a 2004 6 speed manual and the guy who removed it to put new clutch in said that i should keep it because some one is always lookg for these things and mine is in perfect condition. Let me know

I didn't see any hybrid's but I'll probably end up going with an organic one from them. $98 + shipping.

Can anyone confirm that the solid hub clutch disc that clutchnet.com sells will fit fine with the stock pressure plate? I'm having a hard time getting an answer from them.

You really do not want to use the stock pressure plate. That's the reason it can only hold so much. You need a better clamping pressure plate.

I'll be using the stock s52 pressure plate, which can hold a fair amount of power from what I've seen on here.

Someone's got to know the answer...:help

I got a used flywheel, pressure plate and disc from a s52 for $180 shipped which I put in right now, as I won't be going over 350wtq anytime soon. The disc has about 60% left so I figured I might as well replace just that as the pressure plate should be able to easily handle my power goal for now.

Didn't you have a Spec setup before, do you still have the disc from it?

I know its just that you'll be in there... might as well replace it... stock parts may "work" for a while, but come a few months and you start getting into it and who wants to drop a trans twice?

Yeah I know...I might regret it later, but I figure I'll be having to drop the tranny when it blows up anyways, so I can get a different clutch than. This is just a "in the meantime" kind of thing.

Eh I doubt you'll get enough horsepower thru the stock pressure plate to blow it up - thats the whole issue :(

Ahaha, quite possibly. I hear the stock getrag transmission won't take much above 350wtq or so and who knows exactly how much the stock M3 clutch can take. Somewhere between 350-400wtq or so...

I just phoned gripforce (ebay seller who has that F1 racing kit) and they'll sell an organic disc for $75 + shipping. Best deal I've found so far and I'll probably go with that.
