M3 exhaust line [Archive] - Bimmerforums

Hi everyone, I have a question. I've just installed a 1995 M3 engine in my E36 318 is, but the guy didn'y put a double exhaust line. He putted only a single, bigger that my old one but SINGLE. The guy said that it wont change anything...is he right???

My opinion, is if the exhaust line is big enough, even if it is single, it will do the same job!!! It is not mandatory to have a double exhaust line for a m3 engine????I'm I right???

i believe he's talking about how there is only one pipe leading back to the muffler, rather than two, like in this picture:

is the car still using the cat convertor from a 318? at what point does it become one pipe? what size is that pipe?
