ignition key just turn

Guys I have a 1996 328is the key just spins in the tumbler and I can't get the car to start sometimes it won't even turn over and the obc display goes out but the other power still show that the key is in pos.1 Help please!!!

There's a plastic tab that gets broken off and causes the ignition to do this. I'm pretty sure that only the dealer can fix this. I believe they'll have to order a new ignition from Germany.

did u try turning the steering wheel a bit to either side?

Lots of info on this, just do a search. You can fix it yourself with a $60 dealer part.
