Beamer ?? Bimmer ??

In the past I've always said Beamer thinking it was spelled Beamer.

When I see it spelled "Bimmer" I want to prounounce it like "dimmer".

Can anyone explain this odd spelling? :dunno :dunno

there's no such thing as beamer... There are, however, beemer which stands for BWM Bikes and bimmer which stands for BMW cars

So if your speaking of a BMW car then you would say "bimmer" pronounced like "dimmer" ?

And all these years when people say Beemer they either didn't know what they were talking about or they were refering to a BMW bike?
