Just curious about the system which is just opposite from most I have seen,,,

Makes no difference to use blow through. Just makes plumbing a lot easier.

It does make a difference.. With blow through tuning can be harder and the MAF maxxes out much earlier. But the advantage is its supposed to provide a better tune and you can run an open BOV without recirc it and the motor not go rich when the BOV opens.
NickG has a custom MAF and is the only one to my knowledge that does blow through MAF setups with the stock DME.
E36'n has been working on it but I'm not sure of his progress.

I have NickG's MAF on my car, stock DMW with NickG tuning

I ran a Blow thorugh for about 8 months.. when the voltage was reaching 4.5v I would clamp it there and then the MAP sensor would take over..
It worked well but now i'm just a Map sensor :)

When you are going FI don't you want a bigger MAF anyway? I think it has a lot more to do with the setup. If you put the MAF right after a bend you will have a lot more turbulence.

Yes you do want a bigger MAF anyways but even so they still max out earlier than if in a draw through setup.
I had mine after a bend like you said so piping was not ideal, but I was maxing out the 933 MAF with 8psi.

George at ICS made 520whp or so at just under 15 psi with a blow through and dme tune, give him a call, he'd be happy to answer your questions.

I was maxing out the 993 MAF with 8psi.
I ran it at 14-15psi without issue. :confused

I think thats problem. I'd go atleast 3 pipe diameters between MAF and bend.

And was the bend pipe the same diameter as the MAF's housing?
You need to keep airflow and turbulence in mind when dealing with MAFs and their transfer functions.

No the piping was 3" and the MAF sat about 3" after a bend. I understand it was not ideal for a blow through setup. I was just trying to say that it will max out earlier than a draw through setup.
I am no longer running a MAF at all and am running on MAP.

Blow through eliminates the pig-rich on shift problem and allows you to blow off to atmosphere instead of dumping the preheated air back into you intake.
My old turbo Supra got a huge improvement in drivability. Blow through made the engine recover faster from a shift because it never went rich. It also eliminated shifting backfires.
