Side mirror problems

I did try a search, but I didn't find anything applicable...

Neither of the side mirrors on my newly acquired (as in two days ago) M3 are working. A quick scan of the fuses suggests that's not the problem. Before I start tearing into the car to find the cause I thought I'd ask if anyone else has had this problem. My immediate suspicion would be the switch or power to the switch.

Well I've figured out what at least part of the problem is. After pulling the mirror switch I found that power wasn't a problem. Just for grins I took the switch a part and found that the contact assembly for the position adjustment had been removed! I'll get a new switch tomorrow and see what happens.

I wonder if the PO pulled the contacts to keep anyone from fiddling with the mirrors?
