Was prepping my car for the bmw cca concours which is tomorrow for us in seattle. So i finally decided to use the mothers back to black which i bought over two years ago and it's sat in my garage since.
Been mainly using the forever black.
I don't know where they sell forever black but i bought it direct from them online.
As for the mothers back to black it can be had anywhere they sell car cleaning products.
There are ups and downs to both products.
Forever black is nice because it comes with a sponge applicator connected at the top so you don't really have to touch it and risk making your skin black afterward.
You do have to be very careful around painted parts because it will stain it black if it comes in contact with it.
I should know because i've gotten it on my white bumper a few times on accident now. :embarrasm
Mothers back to black is only a bottle and you have to use a rag to apply it. A bit more of a hassle. I don't know if it'll stain your skin because i had on gloves when i used it today.
It worked better then i thought because the liquid in the bottle is actually white and not black like the forever black.
Here are some pics of the stuff i applied it on today. :buttrock
Used the Mothers back to black on the cover that supplies air to the alternator. Applied it with a terry cloth and it worked really well.
Before doing anything to the cover. Oh i'm just too lazy to go buy a new one at the moment.

All done and dry now. Looks way better even with the cracks. :buttrock

Back on the car it goes. Oh cleaned my engine bay about three weeks ago and it's starting to get dusty and dirty again. :help

I used the forever black on the cupspoiler as i always do. Turned out great.

It really helps with the fading issues and the abuse it takes from all the rocks when i'm driving on i5.
Snapped a quick pic when i stepped back to admire my had work. :D

Had to get that Audi in there didn'cha?
Mothers is ok, but Black Again is better than either FB or BtoB.
Doesn't stain at all.

That's about as long as it lasts....my rear trim is still looking good, but my front trim has definitely lost its shine.

But look who's ahead. ;)
I don't expect much from the product for stuff on the front like my lip because of the abuse it takes from road debris and rocks.
It's easy to apply so i just keep on using it. :)
I try to apply it every other months if i the lip is looking a bit dull.

yea i use mother's back to black as well. for those not getting the same results, remember the following two things
1) YOU MUST SHAKE WELL
2) YOU MUST USE A CLOTH APPLICATOR
It is great - never used forever black, so I can't say it's better, but it is good.

I use Meguires Gold Class trim detailer. Also give a great rich finish, but washes away pretty quick. Maybe if i apply a couple of coats in a row it might have more staying power, but only time will tell on that.

Not great shots for this example, but this is how the outside trim turned out.

Yeah i'll make one eventually maybe.
More then likely i'll go with the jim conforti intake and shield down the road and change up to the 3.5 mani also.
Only thing keeping me from buying is i still want to go f/i and get the eurosport twinscrew. :devillook Or something along that line.
As for tire dressing i don't like to use that cause it's usually greasy and dirt sticks to it even faster.
Way to rub in your itb calypsoSA. :(
It's looking good though. :)

ITB = individual throttle body, basicly instead of having one throttle body at the intake of the manifold, there is one throttle body for each cylinder.

Forever Black is great stuff. I recently removed all my molding pieces and applied 3 coats of it. The moldings look brand new again.
Forever Black is a permanent dye and will not wash off like Back to Black or any other trim dressing or tire dressing after a few washings. Its also cheap.

+1, except I just used painters tape to prevent it from getting on the paint. I applied a few coats about 6 months ago and it still looks perfectly black. They were all quite faded beforehand.
