Do you sometimes wish you had a different color?

I have had my M3 for about a month and a half now...I got the color Estoril cause it was the only one around. I am always questioning if I like the color though...anybody else feel this way about their color?

yeah, 1/2 my car was repainted hellrot w/clearcoat instead of mugello rot (no clearcoat) before I bought it. 6 years ago (time of purchase) you couldnt really tell, but now the mugello is pretty faded and it looks like crap :mad

So yeah, my color/paint sucks. But eventually I will repaint it Imola, and it will be sick :buttrock

I bought Estoril because when I saw it my jaw hit the ground. I had no intention of an Estoril and wanted a Cosmos originally. So, not really.

LOL. When going into looking/purchasing an M3, I swore up and down I would NOT purchase cosmos. I turned the corner, saw my future cosmos perched on the driveway of the previous owner, and haven't looked back since.

Honestly, I like cosmos but this has been my second cosmos m3 with the dove interior and I think I had enough. It only appeals to me when its clean and omg its hard to keep it that way.

I would kill 4 bimmerforum members for dakkar yellow on black. And I am serious.
Ex: SoGood's car. I truly love that thing more than he does lol.

Positively no regrets, especially at club meets when people fawn over the car, mainly because of the color.

It is what I wanted & I waited until I found the right car in Estoril.

my previous e36 m3s were silvers (arctic and titanium) and i loved them, but black and silver is far too common. My most recent one was cosmos, which i didnt care for so I changed it up a bit to something a bit more unique:alright... Always had a hardon for estoril though:buttrock.... ive never owned one, so I dont know if i would get sick of it:(.

If I had to clash decisions, it'd most likely be on the interior color.
I constantly change my search horizons (7 months now) based on interior/exterior combinations.
Pretty much goes like this:

Estoril + Black only
Cosmos + any tan shade (might consider a perfect black)
Alpine + Black only
Hellrot + Black or Modena only
Silver + Black only
Avus + Black if I ever ever find a 3.2 (Individual, not resprayed lol)

I got the Ti. Silver and that was the color I was looking for. At first I really didn't like the fact that I had the Dove Interior (wanted Ti. Silver/Black), but its really growing on me.

P.S. I think the dove interior would look much better with black dash, panels and carpet but keep the dove seats and panel inserts the same. Maybe a future upgrade if I ever get the time/$ to hunt down all those black interior pieces

I had an estoril 96 for 4 yrs. I loved it. My current car is an Alpine 95. I like it more and more the longer I have it.
I say that you can't go wrong with Estoril. Its a great color.

Estoril still catches my eye but thus far, I've yet to encounter one in the condition of my car. Also haven't seen one with a black interior: only dove and modena.

My #1 choice was estoril on black (I knew that would be a tough combo to find, especially since I wanted a 4 door) and my second choice was alpine on black. I got my second choice, which matched my alpine on black E30 M3 so that was cool. The exterior color did not matter as much to me as finding one with a black interior. Also, I was more concerned with finding one that had been well cared for than one that was the right color. I got really lucky and found mine on the day I started my search. When the PPI came up virtually perfect (my mechanic said he had never seem one with 90k miles on it in such great shape mechanically) I jumped on it. I love it and will probably drive the wheels off of it.

My first m3 was Boston Green....meh. Don't get me wrong, I like BG, but now with my Estoril, I wish I would have had it from the beginning. My 99 estoril will probably be the last e36 I'll ever have (and Im keeping her forever) so I'm totally satisfied with estoril and think it's the best color on e36's. My next m3, which will be an e46, will either be alpine (ftw) or lsb. Can't wait, but probably a few years down the rode though. :(

If and when I buy another E36, I will focus mostly on the interior color, which will absolutely be black. After owning a black interior and now Dove, I would never go non-black again. Black holds it's youth the best and ALWAYS look bad-ass.

I was gonna start a new thread, but figured I'd just bump an old one.

I'm in the market for an M3. White is by far my favorite color, but I can't find one. Well I did find a 95 with low miles, but everyone's made me worried about 95s.

I think Estoril is my #2.

My S4 was Nogaro blue and my 98 328is was silver. Right now the cars I'm looking at:

98 Estoril/Blk
99 Slvr/blk
95 White/gry

All have pretty low miles. I like all the colors. I don't know if I'll regret getting silver since it'll look like my old 328. And not sure I really want another blue car, but I do like it a lot.

White/Black would be ideal. I don't have the luxury of waiting around for the perfect car though.

Estoril is such a girly color I could never drive one. Last time I went to a shop to have my window replaced they said "Well at least its not that fairy blue on every M3 you see"...Im assuming he meant Estoril.

Dakar Yellow was strange at first, looking at it under the sodium lights. The vaders sweetened the deal though. However I love it now and wouldn't trade it for anything. White trash girls love the bright yellow.

Estroil and Avus are both pretty nice though. I knew a guy with an individual Avus 99 that was hawt. As far as crappy E46 M3's go, Phoenix is ick. Laguna Seca is the E46 Dakar Yellow.

My first M3 was Cosmos, had it for 4 years - definitely not my favorite color. It was hard to keep clean, extremely hot in the summer, and not visible at night.

Second M3 is alpine white, just what I wanted - easy to keep clean, relatively visible but not too visible, and not as hot.
