Would I get any gains from adding a 993 HFM and 42 lb injectors to a RMS Stage II OBD1 3.2 car?
Is it true the 540i/hfm gets maxed out at 350 whp. Cuz I was at 378 at 8.5 psi
Now I am boostin like 12 psi, I am getting a pretty good deal on both, just wondering if I am going to see anything out of this.
Lastly AA headers, are they really good for 15whp on S/C cars????
thanks guys. I've searched and found some info on this subject just F/I talk changes all the time, want some updated news.

>>Would I get any gains from adding a 993 HFM and 42 lb injectors to a RMS Stage II OBD1 3.2 car?<<
Please be specific about what equipment you currently have.. ie, which HFM, which injectors, which manifold, which engine, what year, how much boost, etc.. The term RMS 'stage ii' covers an awful lot of different possible setups, so please state exactly what you have. For instance, you say your obdi but also 3.2l. Does that mean youre running the obdi manifold on your 3.2l engine? What HFM? etc... I dont think the 993 hfm itself will deliver more power than the 540; as for the injectors, it all depends on what your LTFTs look like with your current injectors, and what your afr looks like at wot . Is it rich with room to spare? Im surprised you were able to run 12 psi without maxing out your injectors if they were smaller than 42 lbs. Same even for 378 whp. I would think youd want injectors of at least that size.

You made 378 whp at 8.5 psi? Thats very good power from 8.5 psi. Keep in mind that whether or not the hfm gets 'maxed out' at a given whp doesnt mean the car cant make more power than that... All depends on what you mean. Just because the signal itself reaches peak capacity voltage before the engine hits redline doesnt mean it cant be tuned for more.. There are other sensors and indicators the tuner can use. I believe, though, that the porshe hfm has higher resolution than the 540 hfm, and can therefore measure more airflow, which is why most tuners are using it now on their highest whp applications.

If you were making 378 whp at 8.5 psi, how much are you making at 12 psi?
Is your question, "Would I get any gains from adding a 993 HFM and 42 lb injectors to a RMS Stage II OBD1 3.2 car?" asking about gains over your 378 whp at 8.5 psi, or gains over your 12 psi setup... Hard to talk about it without knowing how much power youre making now and what your dyno looks like.

Who tunes for a Porsche HFM on an OBD1 car?
The AA tune for your car (which I sell the cheapest) is for 36 lb Lucas injectors ( D1163BA) and a Euro HFM with scaler....and 11-12 lb boost..
FYI..I made 415 RWHP with a Euro HFM and scaler on a 3.2, so the 350 RWHP theory is out the window...
AA headers work best with trak pipe or AA race exhaust...I would not buy headers and put them on the stock mid-pipe.....
Altho you live in Florida, you would have to pay sales tax, no matter who you bought from ..me or AA..I bet I know how to save you alot of money...;)

I see everyone going with the 42lb injectors and the 993 hfm on the sc cars to make gains over the standard 400whp stage 2+ kits.:D

AA doesn't do Porsche HFM's and 42 lb injectors (OBD1) for RMS Stg2 cars at 11-12 lb boost, unless they are "adapting the C38 kit Stg 2 tuning for more boost"
and Karl just didn't tell me yet...

I believe alot of Technique Tuning (Nick G) / ICS customers are using setups similar to this to make all kinds of SC power.
