View Full Version : Seized ebrake cable?

Well I put my ebrake on the other day and it didn't come right off. Any one have any info on them seizing up. I was under the car and the cable is not out in the open at all. It makes me think its in the cabin

never had one seize...and i'd guess that for the cable itself to actually seize, you'd be looking at having left it for a long time in an unfavorable environment...

there are two cables, one for each side. they run through the driveshaft tunnel above the heat shield. but you can easily access the cabin ends -- pop the ebrake handle cover off and you'll see the ends attached to the lower end of the handle.

the ends of each cable are threaded and there is an adjustment nut and a jamb nut on each one. it will be obvious if they're somehow bound up. when the handle is down, there should be some free play in the ends of the cables.
